Welcome to Troop 144, Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Our Troop is part of the Pioneer Express District in the Golden Empire Council (GEC). We are proud to be chartered by Christ The King Lutheran Church located in Orangevale, CA. We meet at the church every Tuesday at 7:00 PM. In addition, we are proud to have a community partner; The Orangevale Grange.
Currently, Troop 144 has approximately 22 scouts making up 4 patrols (Flaming Hawks, Flying Bison, Phoenix, and Cougars).
Our Troop is "Scout-Led" meaning the boys are in charge, but guided by adults. The boys make decisions regarding; outing locations, outing assignments, outing activities, meal planning and preparation, Troop meetings, meeting skills, activities, games, etc. The boys are allowed to lead the Troop with minimal guidance.
Our Troop has monthly weekend outings and attends summer camp. We also participate in Camporee/Bonanza, Klondike, and High Adventure outings. Favorite activities of our troop include snow camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, participating in service opportunities and many other activities.
We welcome anyone interested in learning more about our Troop and/or Scouting. Please come visit us and enjoy the experience.
